This Sight Word deck includes 230 words that do not follow the phonic rules or generalization of the language (non-phonetic words) and words that utilize phonetic concepts that are at a much higher level than the early-level student is able to decode. Sight Word cards with a star ( * ) indicate a high-frequency word.
The cards are arranged in a progressive order, from the most simple to the more complex, in both starred and unstarred groups. Check your student's knowledge of each word and divide the deck into known and unknown words. Teach each unknown word individually following a multisensory and sequential teach approach.
