Fun and Games Workshop
May 12th, 2007
Join us for a three hour workshop
of fun as we explore a variety of interactive games and activities designed to support the teaching and
learning of phonograms, spelling rules and syllables in an Orton-Gillingham lesson. Each participant will
go home with over 20 ready to use games and activities that will surely add new intrigue to any lesson plan
and that can be taken away and played during your next O-G lesson. All games have been carefully developed
with the Orton-Gillingham lesson plan in mind.
Comments from previous Fun and Games workshop participants:
"Wonderful ideas! It's great to have some ready-to-use games. It was also
good to have a range from short vowels up to more advanced. Thanks!"
"I really got a lot out of this workshop. Having the props and the directions written
down for us meant we could focus on what you were doing and
really enjoy ourselves. You presented the material in such a "fun" way. Thank
you very much!"
"This was wonderful and I will use so much on Monday, Tuesday and...
I can use every piece! Thank you."

- Provide writing experiences for students at their level of readiness.
- Begin the process of writing as soon as students learn to read words.
- To understand that writing skills reinforce reading skills.
- Writing becomes a natural lesson expectation.
- To break writing down into manageable steps.
A Composition Guide is included with this multisensory workshop.

interesting, colorful/ dramatic/ action packed picture, paper, package of recipe
